As I was running through the rain today from my parking spot to my apartment which is about two blocks, my phone popped out of my shorts.

To my horror it landed face down and the back cover and battery popped off. I basically was on the verge of crying as I kept thinking about the fact that I was going to pick up my beloved Droid and see a horrendously cracked screen.

Thank goodness for the Seidio Innocase that I purchased for my phone! Since I had on the front and back cover for the phone, the only thing that got scuffed up was one outer edge of the cover. The back of the case, battery cover, and battery popped out but there was no other damage.

It's a darn good thing that I had spent $20 dollars on that case because I sure as hell would have had to spend another $400 on another Droid if I hadn't bought that case!

Now if only I could fix the plastic backing of the screen. it keeps bubbling up. I want one of those vinyl stickers...

your supposed to take the plastic off of the back of the screen.
I had a case on my last phone, it wore the paint off the phone, caused more damage than it was supposed to protect from.

Not from what I've heard. Those that have seem to have very loose sliding mechanisms.

It is supposed to come off. It's to keep it from getting rub marks in shipping. I've had mine off since I got it, still just as tight as the day I took it off.

Same here. When the Droids came out, there was a VERY long thread about it. I read it all and took it off with good conscience. My slider is not loose at all.
