I am sorry my friends, but the time has come. I suppose it has been a good run, but Verizon has stopped selling the Motorola Droid. As you can see by going to Verizon's Smartphone Listings, the Droid is not listed, and has been replaced by the Droid 2. While a new "better" phone comes out, our phone shall be remembered as the phone that brought the Android operating system to the mainstream, the first phone that could truly be called and iPhone killer. DROID DOES WHAT iDONT! Even though Motorola and Verizon state that the Droid 2 is better than the original Droid, our phones outspeed theirs with a maximum overclock of 1.3ghz, it has been able to be used as a mobile hotspot when they say it could not, and this phone has stayed true to Android in being an open device. We shall remember the Droid as an amazing phone, and I believe it will go down in cell phone history. How long the Droid was on sale: 278 days.... from November 6th, 2009 to August 10th, 2010. Or 9 months, 5 days excluding the end date Alternative time units 278 days can be converted to one of these units: 24,019,200 seconds 400,320 minutes 6672 hours 39 weeks (rounded down) Because of this sad day, feel free to share your favorite moment with your Droid, and how it has been a huge impact on the cell phone industry.
