I have a few folders that I have created on my home screens to consolidate some apps (i.e. navagation apps, shopping apps, music apps, tools, etc). I'm wanting to know if its possible to change the folder icon to something else WITHOUT using a home replacement, I'm not ready to give up sence yet.

But the use of Bettercut would require the use of a home replacement and I'd lose sence.

None of the folders I have created are listed under the "Edit Shortcut" tab.

I use Apps Organizer since I can tag apps into labels (aka folders) which organizes them, and the labels can be edited with your own icons and placed on the homescreen. It's much easier to tag apps with labels than to manually place icons inside Android folders. I put Apps Organizer's 'All labels' shortcut on the homescreen, and it's like a popup menu system for my apps. I can tag each app into multiple labels, and even star them as favorites too. It's very customizable.

Yeaaah, I used that for a while as well, but I found it to be slow and eventually removed it. Much smoother with just the normal "folders'". :)

    I think I'm missing something.....
Can you explain or show your process for making folders and then changing the icons for them.

Thanks for the suggestion. The Apps Organizer is exactly what I'm looking for.

I have better cut, and have been using it happily. I try to make a new shortcut, but it asks for 3 things like data, name, ect. I understand how the program works and have changed all the other programs icons...but still can't figure out how to change the folder icon.

(To change it's name, open it, and then tap the name at the top of the screen)

If you tap the icon on the edit page where you change the name it will ask you pick a pic or crop a pic or select from icons

    I understand that.

The Folder i created though for my games doesn't show up on the 'activities' list in BeterCut. Which means I have to create a new shortcut, but seem to fail in doing so.

Only certain apps show up in the Edit Shortcut...the folder on my home screen not being one of them.

Yeah, I bought Bettercut specifically to change the icons on my folders, and I uninstalled it the same day because I couldn't figure out how.

Another Alternative to Making Folders to Hold apps is "Launcher Dock"

Its a widget for ur Homescreen, that lets u put 8 Customizable shorcuts on a little wheel that you pull up by clicking on the widget.

you can have as many Launcher docks on your home screens as you want, and theres a LOT of icon packs on the market to customize the look of t he widget on the homescreen. There are also two modes of opperation: Click the Icon U want on the wheel or spin the wheel and hit the Luanch button. Nice Nice Program ^^ check it out, I like it !
