I've used several tablets (typing this on my Prime right now) and would also like to give you any feedback as well.
Is this running stock Android or a custom skin?

Clarify please. Are you the manufacturer? Or when you say you are working on it, you are simply using the product?

If you are a manufacturer in NYC, I can see myself supporting your efforts. If you are just a user, never mind. If you are importing the tablets and trying to sell them, well, good luck, but I can order them by the slow boat load.

    More information please.

I went to the FAQ section of the web site and it was not much help.

They are now available for pre-sale and you receive a free leather case from the website
Yes we are the Manufacturers based in NYC. :tee:

I went to your web site, not much about your operations. I see lots of things about some application you (?) developed, but nothing that says your company physically manufactures tablets which seems rather odd.

I just want the facts. Where is your factory located?

If you are actually, physically manufacturing tablets, you should be very clear about that on your web site because any American made tablet (Hardware, not merely vending some app called "X-Tablet) is BIG NEWS.

My concern is it is not made here, just re-branded and imported.

I would suggest you tell visitors you actually, physically manufacturer these tablets, if you indeed do. Like I said, making tablets here, in this country would be big news. More interesting to more people than which star at the Grammy awards loves the X-Tablet.

When can/will you physically deliver the products? You post mentions you are taking pre-sale orders, but no firm release date. That makes a difference as well.

The specs fail to impress now that there's a sea of Android tablets on the market.

    • The CPU is adequate, but no more than that.
    • The SVGA screen is obsolete in an age where HDTV resolutions are the big deal.
    • 1 GiB of RAM, again nothing to crow about.
    • 802.11 what? Mine can do N at 2.4 and 5.8GHz.
    • Bluetooth 4 is nice, if Bluetooth peripherals ever get really popular.
    • Using a mechanical HD instead of flash storage is obsolete.
    • Webcams, check.
    • Having two USB ports is a plus, especially the more rugged mini ones.
    • The 32GB SD card limitation is not good.
    • What kind of audio does the HDMI port support?
The "X" name and logo suggest support for the X Window system. That would be cool, but since you're not touting that as a feature I'm guessing that it's not a feature. Failing that, the last thing I'd want to do is be stuck with something "X" when the letter of the month is "Z". Unlike the Apple faithful, I'm not willing to spend most of my income on the latest thing. The built-in obsolescence of the name could be a problem.

The USB ports are the most promising. But I can't think what USB device I might want to use with a tablet. Even more so because I don't know which version(s) they support.

As a semi-pro shooter (video) who uses "big boy" optics (not tiny phone cameras) I'd rush to buy an Android tablet that had some unique feature like HDMI in, to enable a 1080p screen to display the output from my camcorder. Some other kind of connector, like IEEE-1394, Thunderbolt, or even full speed support for SDXC. How about an audiophile audio section? Something, anything that might separate this from the pack.

You actually manufacture the tablet yourselves in NYC, USA? - not a Shenzhen, China OEM? This is interesting.

Here's the thing, what makes me want to buy the X Tablet over the thousands of other 4.0 devices that are available to me? BTW celebrity endorsement doesn't mean anything when I'm buying tech products.

Lets all give them a chance, that is why reviews are done, does not matter what they say. What matters is what the end user thinks and say. They have not even have them out on the market, lets give them a chance and all be nice. Sometimes specs on a Tablet is not always everything, support matters a whole lot, at least he has made an effort to come here and discuss it and is asking for you to see for yourself. Once out on the market there will be many feedback's. ;) JMO

Plus there is a good chance the editor of Phandroid will be able to submit his findings and give a non bias review, they have been put in contact with each other.

    • I'm quite sure there isn't mechanical hard-drive in it. AFAIK no Android device has a mechanical HDD, except some Chinese, Android based DVR boxes. I bet the "16GB HD" in the specs was supposed to say "16GB internal storage" or similar.

Thank you Don and I agree it is always the user who is the deciding factor and we look forward to an honest review. We have just finished our 7" Model and also have the Flash Drive size Pocket PC on the way by the end of the month.
We also Pride ourselves on our customer support with Live helpdesk in place as well.

So you were not being honest when you said they are made in NYC. I thought we would have something interesting to talk about. Any products made here are cause for celebration and I would have supported you and your effots. Apparently, your product is another basic tablet from a country that apparently makes hundreds of eBay sellers "manufacturers."

Sorry, but importing a private label device does not make you a manufacturer by any stretch of the imagination. And do not compare Apple to yourself. Yes, iPads are made in China but Apple and your company are in no way comparable.

When you hire Foxx, invest hundreds upon hundreds of millions in research, develop an app store and when you require tens of thousands of engineers and production workers to build a clearly great product and you design your own chip sets, we will talk. :rolleyes

You were not telling the truth and that is why people get upset. You should have said you were importing tablets and then tell us what you are offering. That is honest and less likely to piss people off. I think I'll pass because I do not know what other problems you might have hiding in the dark rooms.

    Hey, I wish them luck.

Perhaps it will appeal to some folks.

What bothers me is how it was promoted here, on this list. When one is not completely above board and they tell you their products are Made in America and then "clarify" and say no, not made in America, I begin to wonder and I do not like to wonder.

We all have to start somewhere Bob it wasn't my intention to mislead you, but yes we are based in NYC and you have to come to us to get it.. :smokingsomb:
  23. Bob Maxey

    Bob Maxey Well-Known Member

You are missing my point. First, I understand you must start somewhere. I love to support American tech manufacturers just starting out. Really, I do.

But I also crave honesty. If it is re-branded, tell us that and tell us why your imported product is better than something else. I might even go for it if the price is right.

Just do not say it is made in NYC when it is not made in NYC.
  24. bklynjava

    bklynjava Member

Bob it is Designed in NYC and assembled in China... Like most companies big or small - everything is practically made in China.
I thank you for you input...

    I give up, I guess.

Sorry, but your product is not made in the U.S. of A. Stop trying to argue that it is. You are arguing something few here will agree with. Your own product label apparently says it is not manufactured here, for goodness sakes alive.
