    Hi folks,

I finally got the courage to try out a theme today. Awesome stuff, but have a few questions.

I was already rooted, but needed to deodex. So I used the 928 Black Glass method which you already all know about, but then it installed the Black Glass theme which I dont really like.

Next I installed Fab's Nextheme, vanilla android sliders, and finally the blackbar mod! Awesome stuff!

My question (for now) is that since I did the Blackglass, and Fab's Nextheme, it almost seems like I have two themes in one.

Two examples are the Android Market still says Droid X Market, and when receiving a call I'm pretty sure I get the 928 caller screen.

Is this normal? Is it ok for this to be?

What would be the best way to still retain root and deodex and perform a clean install of the Nextheme?

    Thanks all!

yes it is normal. when you install a theme it themes this and that and this and that, some themes theme more things than others. when you install a theme over another, anything that was not themed in the second theme remains from the first theme
one way to go back would be to do the 928 back to stock deodexed theme, which will take you back to stock, then install the nextheme. that way you will only have the stock stuff and nextheme not left over themed stuff

    Thanks!

Now I remember Fab telling me to use that one, sadly I forgot.

One thing I wanted to know from you guys with experience.

Can you change the text messaging colors? Im not sure if the 928 theme (or Fab's Nextheme) did this but instead of the text messaging being yellow and gray, its now bright green and gray wow! Any way to change just the colors?

Or, do I have to do the back to stock 928 deodex, install nextheme and hope for the best? :)

By the way, loving the haptic feedback on the keyboard now! Its like how it was when I had 2.1 on my X. Really strong. Does anyone know which theme is responsible for this?

    Thanks again!

you can add the haptic feedback on the keyboard at any time in settings>language and keyboard> vibrate on keypress.

im not sure why the theme changed it?

I've always had haptic feedback, I prefer it actually.

The thing that changed is the fact that the vibration is really strong, like it was on 2.1. You know how it became much less with going to 2.2? Now its like it was with 2.1!

Not sure if its supposed to be that way, but it is on mine.

    Bump.

So if I want to "go back to stock" for a clean slate if you will, can I just go into recovery and run the back to stock zip file?

Or do I have to format system cache etc? Sorry, but I'm a noob here and I want to make sure that I do this right, and start off with a nice clean slate for Nextheme and any others that I decide to try down the road.

    Thanks in advance folks.

I tried the back to stock zip and it failed to work. I just ended up reinstalling apex. It took 5 minutes and I was back to a rooted deodexed rom. Too easy.

That's all I did, worked like a charm...no need to clear cache. Back to stock and deodexed.

Currently running just the black bar mod while looking for another theme.

Just followed fabulous's instructions on installing apex. Mind you it will be a fresh start so save your app's using titanium backup then reinstall them after installing the rom.
