I think the biggest draw of the BlackBerry for women is the rediculously powerful vibrate mode. I can barely tell if my Eris is going off.

All messaging. BB also can do lattitide and maps. BB can even have a real time yahoo or aim app running and not crush the battery! It looks simplistic but just works. Seriously other than games and browsing my BB is perfectly fine. I could switch back and not miss a beat. Little less fun to play with but still good. For work if I was important and cared about my job BB all the way

I just don't like how most handsets are NOT touch. Using the trackball for everything would have sucked had I gone for the Pearl flip a year ago.

Get a storm. Pearl flip is a decent phone, I would give Eris a nod compared to it just on build quality let alone the fun factor. Have one of those too. 5.0 fixed storm issues, no 5 for flip officially but there is a leak floating around.

Nah, I'm sticking with my phone for now. Right now, if I were to switch within VZW, it would be for the Droid or the iPhone (when it is announced). Or I'll hold out until the Nexus Two. Already hearing good stuff about that.

YEah I ain't trading the Eris in anytime soon, but the misconceptions about BB make me giggle. Everyone thinks its so backward but things like adding your address book into the predictive text on the fly seems to be unique to them. If you need a workhorse BB, if ya need something fun. Get something else

On a sort of related note, I never got the complaining about the BB browser. Just get Opera, and be done with it. There. I loved my Pearl, email was superb, along with Opera for browsing.

True. Bolt is better than opera but not very good on the storm. Opera5 on storm is pretty much just like opera on this phone. Charging up BB now I want to see how easy it is to switch back and forth.

On the 23rd of this month, 'leave her' standing right there in the Verizon Store that is, looking for a ride home. She'll be eligible for an upgrade. I told her to either get an Eris, a Droid, or wait for the Incredible. But she keeps insisting on getting a Blackberry!!??!!?!

I just don't get it. Am I wrong in thinking that you still gotta pay for a data package? And don't even get any apps? I just don't get it. I've run out of reasons for trying to convince her that because she saw someone use a Blackberry before, that don't mean it's the best invention ever.

blackberry has an app store does it not? My wife has a curve and has some of the same apps i do, ie ourgrocerylist.com and a few others. Her apps seem more expensive for her os tho it seems. She has a lot less free ones too. My wife loves hers, all she needs is texting, email and face book, so she is fine without a big app store.

She does miss her iphone tho.
