Thinking about getting the Droid, some questions...

I know this one has been asked before but I can't find info after a Google search...

Can you download pictures from web pages to your phone (via WiFi) with either the default or Dolphin browser? Something like the right click and "save as" function on most computers?

Do other streaming media sites with a similar format to youtube work like Dailymotion? Xtube? Redtube? etc. Can any of these type of videos be downloaded (WiFi) and played on the Droid (without having to download them on a regular computer and converting them)?

Thanks, Joshua

Fun Fact: Using the Dolphin browser gives you the option to download YouTube videos on to your phone.

I actually only rarely go on Youtube, I prefer Dailymotion for general usage. Plus in has more "fun" videos that Youtube would censor, of course the really "fun" stuff is on xtube, redtube, 8tube, etc. which is the big reason I want to browse the web on a small device like a smatphone where I have more privacy. Anyway, till there is full flash support I was hoping to at least be able to browse/download pics from imagefap for example, lol.

Pretty sure you can save images. Haven't really tried, but seems like a basic enough function.

As for video sites, they probably wont work since most of them use Flash to play their videos. As of yet, the Droid does not have flash but should sometimes early 2010.

I've been wondering the same thing. I won't get this phone if I can't get youtube, redtube, youporn, and other streaming video sites that use flash. You said that it would be coming out early 2010, what about the people who got phones before that, what are they supposed to do? Use an inferior version of the droid? or will they be able to just update their phone to accomidate flash? I'd wait it out to get a phone that can play streaming video if I wasn't able to upgrade my droid later?

Any response to this question is greatly appreciated. I was going to order my phone tomorrow, but I'm not going to until I find out about streaming video. I can wait if need be.

Lol....well you know "The internet is for p..n!" (song) Although what I really want to do is be able to watch streaming Divx movies and such and watch all the movies and shows on sites like Hulu and such. As well as downloading certain..uh...content. Plus I'm waiting for much more graphical games to become available. There are companies working on ways to link your phone to their servers where the servers handle all the intense graphical processing and then stream it to your phone so you can play high-end games on your phone. Don't worry, Flash 10 is coming in the next few months for download to your phone so almost all web content should work on your phone just as easily as it does on your computer.
