Root This is weird, am I rooted or not?

I thought I rooted my phone. In fact I downloaded 2 different apps from the market to check if I was(Root Check & Terminal Emulator) Both apps say Im rooted but I just installed Titanium Backup and I got a popup saying Im not rooted and TB will not work. Anyone hear of this before?

I'm not sure if mine has told me that I wasn't rooted before, but I have had an issue with the super user app that wouldn't allow me to run Titanium Backup.

What I did was clear the data of the super user app (so it would forget what apps it gave root access to) and then tried Titanium again. The next time I tried Titanium Backup it asked for super user permissions again and it worked.
