On his podcast "this week in google" Leo Laporte said that he had heard that VZW would get the Nexus 1 on March 23rd.

The show is from this week and they give out a ton of good tips for the phone

Hmm.., Verizon getting the Nexus will certainly kill it(sarcasm)

When Verizon gets the Nexus is when this device will take off. I have many friends unwilling to switch to T-Mobile or AT&T and are anticipating a Verizon Nexus release.

The N1 on VZW will kill the T-Mo version, in terms of sales and popularity. It also depends on whether the phone that's coming to VZW being a world-phone or not. If it's a world-phone, then it will definitely kill the T-Mo version.

there are some people that will never go to VZW, either bad experience, or don't like the way they control things, or just plain more expensive... T-Mobile on the EM Plus plan is significantly cheaper, plus you don't have a contract locking you down... Not to mention the SIM swapping ability with the 'GSM' version or the Nexus... That appeals to many folks... But for the masses... the VZW version will most likely be more successful....

All I care about is that it promotes better and higher quality app availability in the Android Market...

I don't know about killing it, as folks who stayed with it will still be there and current TMo customers may still buy one, bt it will definitely have a negative impact.

I made the call to RMA mine last night. I told them (quite honestly) that I'll be re-ordering once the vzw version comes out.

Can't wait. I absolutely love the device but the coverage with TMo was just not acceptable. Having switched back to the Droid, I notice a definite decrease in device performance (which could improve a bit with a 2.1 update).

The day it goes on sale, will be the day I reacquire.

The same features on VZW is about $15 more per month given the recent reduction in pricing for the all you can eat plan, at least that's what I wound up with switching back.
