Help time change changed my time zone

When I woke up this morning my Droid One had "fallen back" two hours instead of one. I went to settings, and saw that, despite I had auto detect checked, the time zone had gone from Eastern to Central. I unchecked auto and changed it to Eastern, but then I had to manually set the time. When I rechecked auto, it reverted back to Central Time. Possibly another app causing issues? I travel a lot, and the Droid has always correctly detected the time zone in which I am. Seems odd this happened with a auto time change.

Same thing happened on my phone, which is a Samsung Android. Mine went from Central to Mountain time. What can I do it fix it and still keep it automatic so it will change while I'm traveling.

OK, turned my phone off as I saw someone suggest. Turned it back on and it was still wrong. Tried again. Still wrong. Took it to somewhere I knew there was no service, turned it off, turned it on, let it search for service on the way back and it fixed itself finally.
