Well, we have all been waiting for this news of the Tmo Project Emerald phone. Remember all the hyped specs? Well...

    1. It is NOT running the dual core qualcomm chipset
    2. It does NOT have Android 3.0 aka Gingerbread
    3. It does NOT have a 4.3 inch screen
    4. It does NOT have 16 or 32 gigs of memory.

It does have a 1ghz Snapdragon processor. It does have 768MB of RAM with the standard 512 ROM. It does have dual cameras (one ffc). It does have a virtual keyboard.

Overall, I am underwhelmed with the Emerald. Motorola's Terminator will eat this phone alive!:eek::eek:

With all of the hype that preceded the Emerald Project, we were led to believe that it would be a beast. Well, let's simply say that its an animal... But it is not the adult phone that many of us were hoping for, rather it is yet another teen-centric plasticky offering in an already glutted Tmo Teen roster. G2 owners are probably not the least bit envious of this phone, on the whole.

The very least that Tmo could have done, barring giving us the Emerald beast that we all expected, would be to have given us the HTC Desire HD http://www.htc.com/www/product/desirehd/overview.html

Motorola, on the other hand is coming to the table as a player. Here is the 411 on their Terminator beast...it is the phone that we were hoping for in the Emerald. The good news is that it will be carried by multiple carriers so, we still have a chance if Tmo is smart enough to get this phone and not mess with the specs: http://androidandme.com/2010/10/pho...-coming-to-multiple-carriers-early-next-year/
The bad news is that we may have to wait until 2011, to get our hands on this puppy.

In all fairness, LG is coming out with its version of the dual core Tegra - The Optimus.
