Torrent Fu HELP!

    I've been trying to set up torrent fu on my computer for the past 2 hours, someone please help me, im lost. I have everything downloaded, things just wont connect, can anyone help me who has done this before, i have a Linxses router which i've read might be a problem, anyone???

    Hi Moxymo69,
    I'm the developer of Torrent-fu, I can help. First, did you check out the tutorial on the Torrent-fu site? It's located here: Getting Started | Torrent-Fu. Usually the problem is that you need to forward a port on your router so uTorrent is accessible outside of your local network. If you can post (or pm if you don't want them open to the world for everyone to see) your profile settings (host, port and username) we can quickly rule out/fix some easy to fix problems.

    Did anyone ever get theirs to work? I went through all the steps on the website but I get an error message when the phone tries to send a torrent to my comp.

    I didn't have follow any tutorials and got it to work on my Android HTC Dream with no problems. I am able to use 3g away from home and scan barcodes/search torrents and then have them download on to my PC as designed.

    I can try to help if you guys provide better information on the problems you are having other than "It doesn't work, help!".

    One thing to try first, is change the WebGUI port and then forward that new port in your router. I believe my ISP was blocking the default (8080?). I'm using 9090.

    First, http://00.00.0.00:1234/gui definitely isn't going to work, or did you just change it so you aren't listing your actual ip address?

    Couple other possibilities:

    1 - in utorrent go to Options > Preferences > Web UI > Under "connectivity" is the box next to "alternative listening port" checked? try unchecking it

    2 - What ip address are you entering into Torrent FU? It should be your external ip address (not 192.168.x.x.) Go to www.whatismyip.com and use the address that it gives towards the top of the page after "Your ip address is:..."

    utorrent and Torrent FU need to be the same. Your router password can and should be different.

    Lets figure out where it isn't working.

    1 - have utorrent open in the background
    2 - in your web browser go to http://localhost:12345/gui
    if it prompts you for a username and password then utorrent is set up correctly
    3 - go to http://12.34.5.67:12345/gui (with your correct external ip and port)
    if that works then your router is forwarding the port correctly
    4 - the only thing left should be to make sure your settings are entered correctly in Torrent FU.

    I've installed TorrentFu Its all set up correctly works fine. only thing is i'm try to set up the custom search provider.. i'm trying to put thepiratebay.org.. i', putting the URL as http:// thepiratebay .org/search/[searchterm]/0/99/0 but it doesnt seem to be working.. please help?.. i really don't like mininova or isohunt they dont give the best results.

    Ok I desperately need help!

    I've tried everything. When I try localhost:8080/gui it works! but when I try with my ip address I get nothing. I've tried everything in this thread and have all correct settings. I even disabled the ip filter thing, as Front242 (great band!) suggested.

    So can you help me, I've been trying to get this to work since I got my g1, and have had absolutely no luck.

    Did you ever figure this out? I tried to add torrent-finder as

    torrent-finder.com/?q=[search term]

    But it isn't working because I'm not getting the same results.

    I'm having some of the same issues, however, I think it's something on the router settings end. I go through all the steps shown on the Torrent Fu website as well as went through the appropriate steps regarding port forwarding, however, when I try and enter my IP address into the Single Port Forwarding step, it won't let me. I get an error that says "You can't use the Router's IP, network or broadcast address."

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I have no idea how this works or how to set it up, and I'm trying to view the tutorial but the torrent-fu site isnt working at all. any help/ideas?

    ok so im having the same problem as kennansoft. when i type in localhost it works, when i type in external ip and port it says oops this link doesnt work

    Either you have the wrong ip address or your router isn't forwarding the port correctly.


    Transdroid is another program that is similar to Torrent FU. I haven't used it but have heard that can be a bit easier to set up. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

    Instead of putting the ip address I put the name of my computer on the network. My computer is "Server-PC" after doing that it connected perfect.

    Keep getting the same error when attempting to connect to host.
    "Cannot connect to @home" @home being my profile.
    I've been able to connect while Wifi is connected on my HTC Desire to my router at home but not through my phone's mobile connection (which is really the whole point, isn't it?) I can even go into the mobile brower and see uTorrent at the address - http://123.456.78.90:8080/gui (123.456.78.90 replaced with my acutal ip address)
    any ideas?
    It can't be my torrent-fu settings either cause it does connect while on home network, just not though mobile connection)

    That will only work while you are connected to the same network (ie WIFI), not while you are on 3G.

    By using the IP and forwarded port, you will always be able to connect. One thing to confirm is that your IP address hasn't changed. Often ISPs will assign you a different IP address and your connections won't work. The easy work around is to check on this frequently, the other is to use a domain name instead of an IP address. I use No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP .

    I'm having an equally dismal time getting my *insert foul language here* router to co-operate. Is it a bad idea to use port 8080? Someone mentioned that some ISP's will restrict that port.
    I can access the webUI locally on that port using "localhost" and my computer's name, but not through the IP address...
    Someone needs to make it crystal clear which port you are listening to, which port you need to forward through your router, which port is the port of the torrent client and if you need to add application rules to the router's firewall and if so which port should that be based off of?

    I have been trying to get this set up for DAYS... I can finally connect via WiFi but not while on 3G. I keep getting the error that it has timed out. I did not change my port number to 8080 or anything else, just kept it the same. Will that make a difference?
