but, I have downloaded the boot.prop file.

I am trying to follow these directions:
    Method 2 - Root Explorer

    1. Copy the build.prop to the root of your SD card
    2. Long press on build.prop
    3. Select "Copy"
    4. Navigate to /system
    5. Click R/W in the top right corner
    6. Paste, and overwrite
    7. Reboot

I cannot locate the /system folder. Any help?

    Ok, stupid question #2 (mine):

Do you have Root Explorer installed?

I don't know about that -- I've asked a few pretty stupid ones. But I still needed the answers!

Yeah, Root Explorer is an app that you need to accomplish what you're doing, and your phone needs to be rooted to use it. It's about $4 but it's a 5-star app.

EDIT: If I'm not mistaken, the native File Manager may only allow you to see the SD card, which is why you may not be able to see the internal /system folder. Just be careful what you do at first if you root and tinker around in the system files (unless you already know what you're doing).

Root Explorer is a great app, just make sure you backup before you try these new things and also make sure you have the sbf file downloaded and rsd lite 4.8 installed so IF (really what I mean is when) you need to recover from brick your not freaking out

Thanks to all. I downloaded z4 root and root explorer and the build.prop and in about 5 minutes I was successful in going from 2.3.9 to 2.3.15.

    I appreceiate the help.
