    Hello guys,

I was looking for a keyboard and I came across TouchPal. It's there on the market and the app I found appears to be from the original dev itself - CooTek.

What I want to know is - does a keyboard app REALLY need to have access to my contact data?

It just doesn't seem right. Any thoughts?

I think it's so that it can auto type for names in your contacts list when typing.

Yep, autotype. Smart keyboard has that too. As long as keyboard does not have access to both contacts and Internet, it'll be fine.

hmmm... both contacts and internet. Yeah, that sounds about ok. Thanks! :)

Though, now I've installed the HTC keyboard instead.
