Help Touchscreen stops working when making/receiving a call

Hi

Normally phones do this when held up to your ear so that you dont press anything with your ear. If its doing this when not close to your ear, maybe there is something covering the proximity sensor eg dirt or a poorly fitting phone case? As a temporary fix, on most phones you can disable the "auto screen off during calls" behavior in the settings of the dialer app.
