Has anyone manager to get Trapster to work properly on the Desire? On mine the app appears to work, but I can't get the audible alert funtion to work.

I'd really like to get this operating so that I can run it in the background while using Google Maps Navigation. The aim is to use Trapster as an audible speed camera alert while using Google Navigation. Is it possible?

Have had a few problems with Trapster.

I have managed to get it working when its not in the background.

Make sure that you set the distance for alerts to 0.5 miles. I had set it to 0.25 miles, but the "radar" diameter is tiny, and often doesn't set off the laert even if you drive right by the speed camera. This does set off the alert for cameras that are not really on your route. You can offset this by checking "repeat alerts" so that if alerts keep sounding, you are likely to be driving towards a speed camera.

You can then try running it in the background while google navigation is running. For me, it seems to work at first. But as the journey progresses, trapster doesn't seem to load new cameras very well in the background, so I stop getting alerts. Haven't fully investigated this, but I believe others have had a similar problem.

I have ended up sometimes leaving trapster as the active app and leaving navigation in the background! (You can still hear all the voice directions)

Let me know how you get on anyway.

After reading about Trapster here, I d/l it but I have a question. If I plan a route using Google Nav, I don't see the camera alerts on the Google Nav screen - is this right? Do I have to plan a route using Trapster to see the navigation as well as cameras because from what I see, the Trapster navigation function is pretty hopeless.

Thanks - I did indeed have 0.25 miles set, so I will try 0.5 miles as you suggest.

The Trapster people seem very anti-Google (even though they seem to be using Google-sourced maps in their app). You can't overlay Trapster on Google Maps nor Navigation, nor vice-versa, and there is no multi-touch zooming in Trapster's own app. Trapster suggest they have a routing feature but it's not that obvious.

As Google Maps Navigation is officially only in beta, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that speed cameras, POIs (Points of interest that you create), and lane advice will be added in the future.

My mistake - multi touch zooming is indeed supported by Transfer.
