I'm just saying this isn't news to anyone here. It was announced quite a while ago and virgin mobile isn't one to update their phones. We're very fortunate that we have dedicated devs working hard to bring ICS to our phones otherwise the Motorola triumph would be complete garbage.

Yeah sadly this is old news. The bootloader stuff has been around since AOSP 4.0 when ICS first hit the wire. Motorola wanted to make sure users had the ability to have full access to the XOOM devices to compile code and keep them updated. It's to bad they don't feel the same way for the rest of their devices.

Yeah forget about Motorola! We don't need them! Coding will be harder, but I have faith in you guys. Our devs are more competent than anyone any slimeball company could muster! (No offense to anyone, but I just do not like it how Android gets such a bad rep and people buy iPhones and Windows Phones just so they can get "official" updates). But we have the MTDEV team to thank for our (now) wonderful device. And it will only get better! :D

We don't need those punks, our devs have made a bigger impact on me than the actual creators of the triumph, they built a device, and you guys perfected it

Motorola has not posted anything on this yet. Not sure who your source is.

i never thought the 100 bucks would apply to us any way. its only toward one of their new phones, and.... well how often does the prepaid market see brand new tech? (if what rebel 69 says is true) sad times and a shame too we have decent hardware if only we could get official updates. if it werent for our devs i wouldve never even bought this phone. thanks for all your awesomness guys!

My source was motorola, that's who told me. I called them then i called virgin. As soon as the word triumph came outta my mouth the moto rep said ahhhh, nah dont know anything bout that. I got the feeling that virgin is laughing behind our backs, they just released a phone that's 100$ and comes outta box running ics 4.0. WTF Virgin Mobile?????????????????????

I don't think the rep on the phone knows anything hence he said "ahhhh, nah dont know anything bout that". I worked call centers for 8 years and never did upper management ever tell us anything about anything until release day. This was the case for large company's that I worked for AOL, Gateway, Earthlink, TiVo, and BuyNow. No where has Moto listed anywhere about which phones are getting upgraded as of yet since the CEO spoke. Plus the sign up sheet is still online and open, and our the Triumph is still listed

Until Moto officially releases what phones are getting it, it's safe to say we just need to wait and see. I assure you no $9.00-$10.00 an hour phone rep knows what an engineer, or developer for Moto knows.

There is no reason given on Motorola's site that would exclude the triumph, though for this to apply assuming they gave you the credit you would have to get their new phone, and motorola is not likely to put a new phone on virgin mobile so you would have to change most likely to verizon so really not a likely change for most people anyway especially since DEVs have done such a good job of updating the triumph
