truly block a caller/sms/mms

I know you can do it online, but that lapses in a few months, blacklist with Handcent just hides the message.
Is there a way in the OS to really block a caller/sms. I already have sent to VM but what I'd really like is a big go **** yourself to be sent back to them.

Google Voice would work if it would actually control my other number and not just theirs.

Any ideas/suggests?

time to start giving out the gvoice number to potential people that need blocking

Actually google said they are going to hopefully soon start offering all that to all numbers on google voice. So you will be able to block with your reg number too.

I am having the same exact problem. By the way, how do you add people to your black list on Handcent?

youmail will do this for calls...handcent for sms

in handcent in the list of converstations, press and hold on the conversation from the one you want to block, a menu will pop up and choose blacklist.

That will be awesome if GV does that!!
