Trying to update apps - Error message

I have a fairly new HTC V mobile. Usually on turning the phone on there are 5 apps that need updating. When i try to update i get a message saying Error while retreiving information from server (RPC:AEC.0

I always end up having to clear from the settings screen.

Can anyone help on this please.
