Turn off text ringer while in a phone call.

Often enough I start a phone call and during that call I recieve a text message. The phone rings or vibrates loudly in my hear causing my heart to jump into my throat and the people down the other end suddenly hear shouts of suprise. Is there a way to automatically put on silent mode when you are in a phone call?

Not knowing what device you have, I can only tell you that handcent sms allows you to decide whether or not you want to hear a sound, have it vibrate, or do nothing with on a call.
On my DX, I don't see an option in the stock sms app.

Haven't checked to verify but I'm sure Tasker could do this.

Found and fixed it. Thank you very much.

For future readers. Go to the messaging client (either the default or which one you use now [I use chomp]). Then settings, notifications and it should be possible to find the settings there.
Really simply fix and I feel a bit gutted for not thinking to check first but thank you all repliers.
