    That method does not work. They must have done something before releasing retail version.

    Doesn't bother me as I like the new Sense UI.

    The way the pictures / videos are handled in the stock android is nice though.

    If you're talking about Gallery3D app, you can install it from N1 apk and it works just fine. Search XDA for an apk file.

    You can't do this in the retail Desire. I checked: the Desire's release candidate ROM no longer has a Launcher2.apk, which is the 2.1 vanilla Android launcher/interface.

    You could try getting a Launcher2.apk from a N1 and installing it manually, but dunno how well that'd work.

    Some people reported it works fine. For me the icons shrink to favicon size and it's totally unusable.
