Twitter App?

Anybody know if there is anything in the works yet for any sort of Twitter application?

I'd love to be able to simply launch an app and post to my twitter directly rather than dealing with an SMS-type text messaging service.

Hey Bacteria,
I went ahead and installed the app and made a post.

It shows who all I'm following nicely, and it's actually the first unauthorized .apk i've installed, good luck.

Follow me if you want, and we'll keep up - twitter = smithey

I think I may wait for the official android marketplace release since they said it's close to release anyways...

I'm not really in any hurry.

I've been using Twidroid, and it is fairly nice. It serves an error when you send a tweet, but the tweet does get posted. Just downloaded an update today, so hopefully that issue is addressed.

I also heard that the Betwittered (Twitter client for iGoogle) developers are looking into an Android app.
