    Is this possible
How to Install Ubuntu on Your Nexus One/Android! | Nexus One Hacks Blog
    Taken from article above.
For example, most new Android smartphones including Nexus One, HTC Evo 4G, and Droid X all use ARM architecture CPU, meaning you can only use ARM-based linux systems/ports.

So it is to my understanding the droid 2 uses the ARM cpu. Will we be able to have ubuntu running on our droid 2 or would the encrypted boot loader stop us dead in our tracks. Well I am sure someone will figure out a way to dual boot ubuntu on a droid 2. I hope that will be soon if its not already possible.

the locked bootloader will most likely prevent this. Someone might find a way to boot ubuntu but there is no way you could dual boot without the bootloader unlocked. Even the original droid has not had any dual boot options that I know of.

Anyway I wouldnt expect this anytime soon

Didn't read the article, but what benefits are there since android is linux based to begin with?

I'm guessing its because you can run regular Linux apps on it.
