My UK 2.2.1 Unlocked SGS was working reasonably well for the last 6 months. Recently I went abroad and experienced network issues. I contacted my contract provider when I returned to the UK and they reset my roaming and told me to switch the phone off, take the battery and the SIM card out, turn the phone on then off and finally reinsert the sim card and turn the phone on again.
A couple of hours later having not done this due to other commitments my phone stopped being bale to make calls with a message relating to "no data connectivity available" or equivalent. Thinking that this may be due to what my network provider said, I followed their instructions.
