I downloaded 2 "Home" applications for HTC Hero - dxTop and one more called "Home" (not sure what it is called on the market, but this is what my phone has registered it as).
I wanted to uninstall both and dxTop went away fine. But this "Home" application does not show up on My Downloads or the application list under ES File Explorer. I can see it under Settings->Manage Applications, but I don't have an uninstall button. I have cleared the cache and stuff, but to no effect. I cannot even "Force Close" under Manage Applications.

This app does not show up on Taskiller either. But I know its there, as every time I press the Home button, it asks me which Home I would like to go to....Its annoying. Is there a way to uninstall it?

Did you try looking for Open Home in your programs?

If you have Open Home in your apps list then that is the other home app you downloaded. Try finding Open Home when you go to Manage Apps.

There is a Home application listed under Manage Applications. But there is no uninstall option. The only option I have is "Force Stop". But then that does not work as well.

Are you sure you did not download home++ and never actually use it?

On my DROID Home refers to the native Home app which shows the default DROID desktop - and it is not removable....

    Just a thought....

aHome is the first app (the B&W icon). On my DROID, the one you're seeing as represented in that picture is the default home app that is native to the phone.

It seems like my conjecture is true - that is the normal home app that displays your normal home and thus it cannot be uninstalled.

Just as dream weave said, the Home app you that has no uninstall option is the stock home screen.

Its not my home app. I want to install the 3rd app on the webpage I mentioned - which is called "Home"

I have 2 options on my "Go to Home" option. I don't want to install the Android Home.

Ok, not to thread necro, but seriously how can I stop it from asking each time I press 'home' button?
