Could it be true...?
Bt gives unlimited access to 1.5 million wifi hotspots - The Inquirer
do a little google search? see what comes up:
BT Press Releases
cool. When?! Thats what i want to know.
Says the company that is now rationing its Internet access.
The wording of the first paragraph seems a little ambiguous - in a certain way you could read into it that you need to be a BT Broadband customer as well as an o2 customer... I could be wrong.
"BT today announced unlimited access to 1.5 million BT FON and BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK for millions of BT Total Broadband users, including O2
Yeah wording is terrible we will see what happens..
If you are a BT Broadband customer you have free access to BT Openzone currently anyhow. You can access BT Openzone on any piece of hardware (laptop, mobile etc) with wifi capabilities so not sure what this press release is saying that's new!? Ahh hang-on, they are removing the requirement to have a certain level of BT Broadband package, now all BT Broadband packages will give this BT Openzone access.
I can't see this resolving the old issue of O2 customers being unable to access BT Openzone, unless they fork out for a separate BT Openzone subscription. This won't change what we get with the web bolt-on from O2.
