Help unlock

my at$t note 5 was setup to unlock just using the fingerprint. For the last few weeks, at times it is asking for the pin number. I never know what it is going to ask for when I pick up the phone. There are times when I unlock the phone using the fingerprint then within seconds the screen will close and to reopen, it asks for the pin.

I am trying to avoid resetting the phone. I have tried resetting the settings and deleted the system cache. I also run Smart Launcher Pro 3. I also have the phone sync with gear s2 classic.

Any thoughts?

oh well, I guess nobody can help with this. anyway, it seems to have fixed itself.
