I tried rooting my moto droid 1, and it didn't seem to work... So now I have the superuser permissions(ninja) app in the app list. Want to get rid of the app and possibly update to 2.2(froyo). The OTA tried updating my phone twice since this and said it failed both times when it booted up in bootloader mode...

    Specs?

    Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
    Baseband version: C_01.3E.03P
    Kernal version:
    2.6.29-omap1-g7fa8788
    android-build@apa26 #1
    Build number: ESE81

If you have the superuser app then you are rooted. I recommend downloading ROM manager and loading a 2.2 ROM. The reason the OTA update keeps attempting to load and fails is because you are rooted but running 2.1. If you do what I suggest then the update warning will go away.

If you just want to unroot there are topics in the forum on how to do it.
