update icon

Okay, I wanna know if there's anyway to get rid of that annoying little icon that appears in the notification line every hour or so. It's the one that's telling you that there's new updates for you contacts/facebook friends. But, this notification is extremely slow so I see that theres updates on contacts that I saw in the news feed hours ago. Now I do have majority of my contacts synced with facebook obviously and I don't wish to unsynce them. So is there a setting to get rid of that icon?

yes there is... lemme look to see how i did it. ....

settings> social netwroks > menu >acct settings > facebook >uncheck those boxes
