As usual, these are update.zip format. Rename to update.zip, place on root of sdcard, and install (don't forget to 'allow').

My advice to you, in selecting a kernel, is to #1 try the lowV varieties first. Then select the slowest kernel that exceeds what you expect to run on a day to day basis. So if you plan on running 800-1000, run the 1.0lv kernel.

If for some reason you get stuck on the 'M' while booting, first try switching to the mediumV kernel. If that does not work, back the speed down, say from 1.25 to 1.2, or 1.2, to 1.1, etc.

    5-slot Low Voltage

    1.0Ghz (125/250/550/800/1000)
    1.1Ghz (125/250/550/800/1100)
    1.2Ghz (125/250/550/800/1200)
    1.25Ghz (125/250/550/800/1250)

    5-slot Medium Voltage

    1.0Ghz (125/250/550/800/1000)
    1.1Ghz (125/250/550/800/1100)
    1.2Ghz (125/250/550/800/1200)
    1.25Ghz (125/250/550/800/1250)

    7-slot Low Voltage

    1.0Ghz (125/250/550/700/800/900/1000)
    1.1Ghz (125/250/550/800/900/1000/1100)
    1.2Ghz (125/250/550/800/1000/1100/1200)
    1.25Ghz (125/250/550/800/1000/1100/1250)

    7-slot Medium Voltage

    1.0Ghz (125/250/550/700/800/900/1000)
    1.1Ghz (125/250/550/800/900/1000/1100)
    1.2Ghz (125/250/550/800/1000/1100/1200)
    1.25Ghz (125/250/550/800/1000/1100/1250)

Trying it now. Mine always ran warm with adamz LV kernals, we'll see how yours do. Thanks!

I can't vouch for the heat yet, but my benchmarks were phenomenal on the 5 slot LV 1.25.
WITH JIT I clocked in a 100ms and a 12.3mflop and consistently in the low 120s with JIT. Without, I am around low 130s. On BB 2.1 0.9

    Thanks and nice work!

I do not THINK so ... you can try, might get stuck on the M, but getting back into recovery is no issue. Pretty sure those ROM's use a different ramdisk (I HAVE turned one of my kernels into one that did work some time ago however)

yeah, i probably won't try, i think my kernel is what may be holding up my top speeds on cyan mod, darn

what's the difference between low and median voltage? What difference does it make on the phone?

You should always try low voltage first. It will result in better battery life and lower temperatures.

But some phones may not be able to run at certain frequencies at lo. voltage. In that case, you'd have to use the slightly higher voltage kernel.

Chevy, thanks so much for these 7-slot kernels. The MV 1.2Ghz 7-slot is working great for me. For whatever reason, my Droid doesn't like any of the LV kernels. Your LV 7-slot ran unbelievably cool, even pushing it hard, but after a few minutes, the resets started. The MV runs almost as cool, but doesn't cause any FCs or resets or other problems that I've been able to find. Thanks again!!

Thanks ChevyNo1! When I use other roms I always switch to your kernels. No kernels have made my phone run like yours so I very much appreciate it. Keep up the good work.

I think this broke my wifi, it won't connect anymore. Should I try another tiwlan_drv.ko file?

Also can I open this with a hex editor and change where the slots are? I love a I'd rather 350, 450, instead of 125 and 250. Thanks!

A reboot solved the wifi problem

Good to hear the reboot cleared it up - no on the hex editor - it is compiled into the kernel and cannot be modified - I may rebuild other versions of the kernel with at least the 125 replaced by another slot

Glad to hear the MV worked for you - I figure about 10% of the population seem to experience similar issues to yours, or they get stuck on the 'M'.

Thanks for all the replies! Stinks about the kernel not being easily edited, but I guess that's why there isn't 40 thousand kernels out there like there are roms!
