I am currently rooted with 2.1 and have cyanogenmod installed. What is the most painless way to upgrade to 2.2? Should I install it manually and just boot my phone to 2.2? Also, if I do that will i loose all my text, apps, etc. thanks

You will need to flash back to 2.1 using RSD on your PC. Then your phone will push the OTA.

You may also find the update.zip FRG01B build to manually do it.

yeah, no reason to do the "flash back to 2.1 using RSD on your PC. Then your phone will push the OTA." as then you just have to reroot? lots of steps backward this way.

I would do what I did and what gnath says, your rooted, so just get 2.2 - either vanilla like FRG01B or one with a theme and such like SS 4.7

Thanks for the help. Is FRG01B just the stock 2.2?

Ok thanks. This might be a dumb question but is there any way to install 2.2 without losing all my text, call logs, apps downloaded, etc?

use MyBackUp Pro or Titanium and backup your apps+ data and system data and then you can restore if you go the route of clearing and deleting your cache.

AND be sure to create a Nandroid backup or clockworkmod backup BEFORE you do a damn thing so you can roll back if you blow it or hate it
