Hi everyone! maybe my question is very obvious. I have an Huawei 8650 with android 2.3.5. Is it possible to upgrade this mobile to android 4, the latest android version?? If it is, how can I upgrade my mobile to android 4?? I have been surfing the net a lot, but I haven't found anything.

    Thank you very much!!

Manufactures release the updates for Android phones so you need wait until/if the release 4.0 for your model.

I would suggest that you contact your manufacturer's customer service and inquire if they are going to upgrade your model to ICS (Android 4). I would refer you to our subforums, but I do not see a subforum for the Huawei 8650.

    If you have this device

Huawei U8650 Sonic - Full phone specifications

I wouldn't expect to get the update, since the device only has 256 MB of RAM and a 600 MHZ processor. If I remember correctly, ICS requires a minimum of 512 MB of RAM and a 1 GHZ processor.

I'm seeing things about ROMS and upgrading to newer versions of android os BUT and this is if it can be done on your phone, doesn't mean your phone has the engine inside it to run the newer os effectively. tis nice to think you can upgrade to a newer and maybe better os but it is a bit like putting 4 fully grown elephants on a moped, you'll struggle to balance them and the moped may not have the grunt to pull off. Of course you will void your warranty and possibly brick (owner repairable) your phone. my advice is to chill and wait and read... don't get caught up in the notion too much as you may not find it was all worth it. :)

Moved to the Huawei Sonic forum to get a better response. Drop me a PM if you have any objections. :)

If you are looking for a custom rom to update your phone to Android 4.0, try these two links. They are both in beta so don't trust that they will work properly and it will also void your warranty. But give them a try if you want.
Alexandr Latyshev Edition: CyanogenMod 9.1 ICS Sonic Beta2
Alexandr Latyshev Edition: MIUI 4 2.2.17 Sonic Beta v1

They are also both in Russian
