Just managed to get Kies working for the froyo upgrade. Finally got it working by formatting internal memory card. Anyways..
So I start the upgrade - it backs up contacts and goes through and upgrades
Start up my phone in anticipation of some tasty froyo action.
But my phone has only been upgraded to 2.1, and a bit..
    on phone it says -

    firmware version 2.1-update1
    baseband version i9000adjm1
    kernal version 2.6.29 root@se-s608 #2
    build number eclair.adjm1

So I try to update again through Kies, it says update available, offers to backup contacts then lists devices requiring upgrade

    Model name gt-i9000
    current version PDA:JM1 / PHONE: / CSC: JM1
The latest version is already installed on connected device
Im on o2 payandgo, got the phone on ebay, not sure but it may be locked to o2
Can anyone think of a way to get it upgraded? Or do I have to wait for o2 to allow upgrade??
    Thanks

    Hello Everyone,

Any new news on the Update to Froyo 2.2 for the Galaxy S Series, Samsung Captivate?

I have tried my Samsung Mini Kies this morning and it says that I have the current version and it's 2.1.

Haloween is Past! Did they lie again???

Can anyone confirm if doing the registry hack will bypass o2 branding and allow froyo upgrade??
