Upgrading from stock Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 from Gingerbread to Kitkat 4.4.4

Google for and Download the following files:
- Odin v3.07 or later
- I8160XXMC8_I8160TMNMC3_TMN.zip (containing odin firmware in .tar.md5 format)
- cm11.0_codina.nova.20141011.zip (Cyanogenmod 11 kitkat 4.4.4 for Ace2)
- pa_gapps-modular-pico-4.4.4-20141025-signed.zip (to get Google play store)

Process (recollection only, so might not be fully accurate) :

- Best to do a full factory reset. Turn on USB debugging on Ace 2
- Upgrade from Gingerbread to Jellybean first. Switch off phone
- Volume down + home button + power button to go to download mode
- Connect to PC
- Run Odin on PC. See the com port is connected. Don't change any settings
- Click on PDA, select the .tar.md5 jellybean firmware and start flashing
- Wait for full completion. Until you see the status PASS on Odin
- Phone should be upgraded to Jellybean with some latino gibberish
- Copy both zip files to external sd card, main directory will do.
- Switch off phone
- Volume up + home button + power button to go to recovery mode
- Apply update, choose cm11.0_codina.nova.20141011.zip and upgrade
- Upon success, again apply update, choose pa_gapps-modular-pico-4.4.4-20141025-signed.zip and upgrade
- If all goes well, phone should be in Kitkat 4.4.4.
- I personally encountered the default internet brower and exchange services error. Just go to Applications and disable both of them and install Google Chrome and Gmail from play store.
- Add in your ISP's mobile network's APN
- Turn off the phone's OTA update
