Why do I have to wait two years or more to buy a new phone I like without paying 4-600 is there a way around this.

Nope, either by a phone used, like Ebay, Craigslist or Amazon, or if you are a Sprint premier member then you can upgrade every year

After you're a customer for a few years they let you upgrade every 10 months with the discounted prices.

Lol don't forget just because you can upgrade doesn't mean you should. I almost jumped on the LG optimus s but instead choose to wait to see what gets announced q1

I agree with DonB on this one. The Sprint HTC Hero has a huge support base, especially when it comes to rooting and new ROMs.

If you jump to one of the newer handsets, you lose all that support and will have to wait for ROMs to be made. That is one of the reasons why I am sticking with my Sprint HTC Hero at least until I see what the first quarter handsets will be like.
