Before I begin, let me say that I am a noob, so dont stone me :)

I just bought the Samsung Infuse and right after I heard about the coming release of the Gs2 in the States. I use my phone heavily for browsing, gaming, everything under the sun and a duel core processor with 1gb of ram is right up my alley. I have already had my infuse freeze and glitch out from over use.

Question: is there anyway to upgrade the processor on my phone to a duel core? I mean, aren't they like computers anyway able to exchange parts and such?

I don't fancy spedning 750$ getting the gs2, just used my two year contract upgrade, so can it be done?

    Thanks android!

    No.

There are many problem to "upgrading"

where would you get the parts?

How will you fit the new parts?

How will you install it? it would prob have different pins and such.

How will you make it compatible?

So. no i dont think it is possible..

I'd have to agree. Phones just aren't designed to have their hardware upgraded.

Yeah they are pretty small, just by taking the back cover off things look pretty cramped. oh well, hey, anyone want a 1 month old samsung infuse? jk

    thank yall
  5. Yep, not possible. Its not as simple as upgrading a processor in a pc. In a phone, the motherboard is built for only one processor, not any others. Plus you would have to redesign the kernal and other things to accept the new processor.

AFAIK you can overclock a processor if you are rooted though.

No. They're nothing like desktop computers in that regard.

Notice how places like Newegg don't have a section of cell phone components to upgrade phones the same way that they do for desktop computers?
