CPU-Z is a more static utility telling you things about your phone's hardware -- i.e. CPU stats, RAM, sensors, etc.

Trepn is a more dynamic utility to measure your phone's performance. You can just leave it running to make performance graphs or have it actively show you overlaying, on-screen boxes showing your CPU activity in real-time (if your phone has a four core processor there will be four boxes for each core's load stats).
