A lot of your issues are android 4.0 issues - not HTC changes. The removal of the menu button, adding a recent app button...that stuff is 4.0 changes.

That was certainly a step in the wrong direction. HTC surely could have cured that with Sense.

Well, I'm partially going back to my older pre-MikG cure. That is, throwing the Phone, Quick Settings (app downloaded from the market, customized list using the "Dialog" appearance), and Voice Search into Wave Launcher. Then thinning down Wave Launcher's trigger area a little to prevent mistakes.

I'll probably also throw Widget Locker back onto this phone, since the Sense lock screen doesn't appear to be nearly customizable as I thought it would be, and also use it to make the volume keys to turn the screen on.

If anyone knows of an App that uses gestures to launch apps I would greatly appreciate it! I really need something that will allow me to run Google Voice Search without looking at the screen. With Wave Launcher it's possible, but not ideal.

Is anyone else noticing sense crashes after you go back to the home screen from any app? :(

Screen shots are able to be taken just like on the 3d evo... Hold the power button down and the home button which will allow you to take a screenshot

    Thanks everyone for there first impressions and congratulations on getting this beastly phone. I have a few questions;
Does it come with a memory card and if so what size?
Can it record video in slow motion like the one x and if so does it record sound?
And can you view 3d pics on it, like from the evo 3d.
Thanks thats all continue to enjoy.

    I'm not having this problem.

Has anyone else noticed the "slingshot" glitch that I found on the right-most homescreen? If you scroll far/quick enough (while staying on the right-most screen) then let go it will fire all the way back to the left-most screen instead of just re-centering ;)

No there's not a memory card
    Yes is does SlowMo
I'm not sure about slowmo sound, haven't tried it yet, I'll get back to you.

I cant make calls, and it reboots every time i try, other than that when the phone is off it looks GREAT and when it is on the Home screen it looks GREAT. I just cant make or recieve any phone calls? Kind of a problem. I am a loyal sprint, HTC, and evo fan though so I am being patient after two and a half hours of working on trying to get it set up and functioning and now i get to call tech support

That sucks. Hope they get it resolved.

No it's not. It's HTC's decision to have the recent app button instead of the menu button. If it was a Android 4.0 thing the GS3 would also have a recent app button, but it has a menu button. It's up to the manufacturer what buttons they want or if they even want buttons.

Open the camera app, press the 'A' at the bottom left, and slowmo will be the top option. ;)

I would try a hard reset. Wipe/reset the phone and try again.

NEVER waste your time speaking with tier 1 tech support (the first people you talk to when you call tech support)!

Tier 1 = completely UNknowledgeable people that simply-and-only read from a step-by-step trouble shooter. They do not understand problems and thus will not be able to tailor a solution to your issue. Tier 1 is only for people that have never owned an Android and are not tech savvy. In other words, if you have an account, you have surpassed tier 1.

Tier 2 = people that already know everything from the troubleshooter and should be able to actually give assistance because they should be able to actually recognize the problem (though sometimes may not know the exact solution).

Tier 3 = mostly (not all) actual knowledgeable people that will narrow down your problem and will either know the solution immediately, or will have the power to swap your device (but they can be difficult to reach, so tier 2 should suffice for the vast majority of issues).

If you EVER need to call tech support, tell the first person that you have an issue that you have been discussing with tier 2. They should immediately transfer you.

...This might be good information for all future LTEvo owners.

I waited an hour and a half in Best Buy, but I finally have it!

First impression: Woah, this thing is big! And THIN! Coming off a 4S it's like a slip of paper. I'm worried it'll blow away in the wind.

The kickstand is awesome. I almost never used the kickstand on my OG EVO, but the mid-body location and three orientations make this one infinitely more useful. It's also rock solid and doesn't feel like it's going to collapse on you.

The screen is gorgeous. I'll have no problems dropping the 4S for this on that account.

Data is so far so good. Not getting an LTE signal anywhere, but I might be out of range of the towers I've seen on S4GRU. And those towers might not actually be accessible at the moment. When I previously left Sprint, I was getting 100-300 kbps at home and maybe 500 kbps while at work. Now at home and work I'm getting around 1 mbps. I don't know if that's better radios or tower upgrades or both, but I can live with it until LTE is activated here.

Sense 4.0 is certainly toned down from the last time I used it (OG EVO), and it's probably the most attractive of all the manufacturer skins, but I'm already aching to root this bad boy and throw a killer ROM or three on it.

I love that long-pressing the camera button opens the camera app. Haven't had a chance to make a call yet, but will do that soon. And my NFC tags should be here next week so I'll be able to mess around with those as well.

All in all, it's good to be back in Android land!

I find it tiny. That being said I'm coming from a Galaxy Note. Wont make the mistake of buying a Samsung again.

on third person now and they say they cant help, reset still does not work, looks like i have a faulty device and my wait to enjoy a new phone continues. and worst thing is i switched my old evo over to my wifes line, now on 3 and a half hours of fun tonight, getting really pissed, waiting for account services, my fourth person to talk to tonight.

Well, every now and then there's a weird handset out there. I'm sorry for your trouble.

I'm hoping that I don't have the same issues... I actually haven't activated mine yet (been running Wifi all day while I backup everything from my OG Evo and do all the SD card transferring and whatnot).
