    Hi there,

I've been looking to swap out the HTC Desire's keyboard for one with voice search in it. I installed Verizon's keyboard 2.1 but can't find a way of enabling it. I think it appears as 'Android Keyboard' under MENU > SETTINGS > LANGUAGE & KEYBOARD, but even although I ticked the box to use it, it still doesn't appear, defaulting to the HTC one instead.

    Any advice?

    Cheers!

Long-press anywhere in the text field (like search) and then a menu will pop-up to choose different input method.

Brilliant - thank you! - got it working! :)

Out of curiosity, do you think it's just as good as the HTC keyboard?
And is there a way of enabling predictive text globally - it only works in some places.

    Thanks again! :)

I think HTC keyboard is much better. All it lacks is speech-to-text (which I don't care about).

As soon as we get some root, we can install modified HTC_IME that has speech-to-text enabled.

I want to try that keyboard but I do like HTC's one.
