Even knowing our Epic 4G's have GORILLA GLASS, will you be using a screen protector? Personally, I'm leaning towards not...

I don't see any reason to use one personally, having seen some of the torture tests done on Gorilla glass, I don't find myself too concerned about getting my screen scratched

I will not. The other 2 people in my house with Epics will be using them. They habitually just drop their phones in their purses so I think it makes sense.

I think I'll skip it also. I REALLY hope the Gorilla glass lives up to its expectations...

I'm brutal with phones, so yes, I'm using one. Looks crappy when the screen is off, but you don't see it at all with the screen on! And Radio Shack has a pack of 5 for like 8 bucks, so they're cheap.

Im gonna be using one on mine
although i would not like my display to be degraded by a screen protector, i drop my phone a lot, so I definitely need some protection from scratch.

Also, someone brought up a good point. One reason why i like the epic is because the whole front glass is completely black when the display is turned off. I ordered clarivue, and hopefully, its not as visible as others, but now im having second thoughts because i dont want my epic to look like other crappy phones.

Whats good fam! Got the Epic this morning. Tried the Evo for a month but ended up returning it mainly because the screen was peeling off & decided yo wait for the Epic to drop. I see you're off the BBerry & got the Vibrant, how ya liking it?

I had the one the Sprint store sells on it for the first hours. Took it off. It degraded the screen big time. At first with it on I was like this screen sucks compared to my captivate(naked). Took the protector off and the glorious screen came alive.

yeah I went off the Berry's last year.
This my third Android device I owned but the best one so far.
I was at Radio shack today playing with the Epic. I even sold a few for them because I had my Vibrant on me.

I wont need one for the front glass display, But i do wanna protect the sides and back cover. I really wanna protect the camera, I have feeling that will get scratched. I just got my mom an Evo and I already saw scratches on its camera glass. Anyone knw if the Epic has gorilla glass on the camera lens?

I put on my zagg last night . . now there is ugly lines on the screens with white backrounds .. think b.b will refund me? not to mention it forces me to use more pressure on the soft keys which is annoying lol

I will not be using a screen protector. I had a captivate for a month and it looked as good after the month as it did day 1. I also heard Sprint sales people talking about the glass being scratch proof. Not sure if I believe that. In any case, no protector for me.

Just going to use a case for mine. I don't see a need for the screen protector that could make the soft keys worse.

No need. The screen doesn't get smudged hardly at all! Its amazing! Its so smooth and feels good. I rubbed it against my shirt/chest and it was silky smooth too. This is definetly high quality glass. A screen protector would only cause smudges

I usually buy screen protectors and hard cases for all my phones, but I'm just discovering that my Epic has Gorrilla Glass... So what is it exactly, like the adamantium of glass or something? lol

I don't use a screen protector because the gorilla glass is great. I carry my Epic in the leather case on my belt.

Rumor on another forum suggests the Epic version of SGX was not made of Gorilla Glass(GG). This is not confirmed yet, but speculation, as members of said forum called samsung and sprint and both never confirmed GG.
