So we know that the prime is going to have GPS issues that can't be fixed due to the aluminum case.

Is there a way to use my HTC Thunderbolt or Evo as an external bluetooth GPS? That would completely solve the problem as I want to use the prime as a chart plotter with the excellent Navionics charting software. But, it won't connect "down below" at the chart table of the boat due to the bad GPS reception.

I am going to try droid2droid GPS tether as soon as I get my prime to a wifi. And/or some other gps tether solutions if this doesn't work...

If you are talking about the original Prime, then you're in the wrong forum. If you're talking about the TF700T, then there shouldn't be any GPS issues.

But the answer to your question is that GPS tether should work.

If original TP owners with problems call Asus and complain about the GPS etc Asus has said they will fix them, you will have to send them in but at least they will get fixed. Probably with a new unibody.
