This is annoying, but somewhat hopeful from that article.

"Verizon did indicate in our earlier interview that outside app stores would not be installed on its handsets by default, but that consumers could download them."

Vcast sucks. Theres no need for it. The apps that are in the market now in the verizon tab you can find way better in the original market. Pac-Man 4.99? Verizon is so money greedy. At that, in the comments, people are saying that Pac-Man app is crappy. I could just download Snesoid and get pac-man and tons of other classic games FOR FREE!

    a 70/30 split with the DEV's?
I doubt that Verizon is taking the 30-side of this..

Whatever, even if vz completely abandons the idea of open phones and android and gets the iphone, people will just take their business elsewhere (Sprint isnt gonna be lookin so bad, etc). Android doesn't need vz anymore, it has become huge already. And I got news for vz it's not because of the vcast apps o_O

I heard back 6 months ago Verizon was bringing the iphone 3g by the end of the year.
Couldn't figure out why since the droid had already hit and hit hard..

    Because people like options.

Because not everyone likes the Droid. Because not everyone likes the iphone.

If the Verizon has both the Droid and iphone, they'll have the best of both, plus the best network. That will translate to more revenue, more profit.

Is the concept really that hard to understand? What company wouldn't want to have all three of the best smartphones (Droid, BB, iphone) on their network??
