Looks like we won’t be limited to just blurrycam shots of Verizon’s R2D2 edition of their newly launched Motorola Droid 2.*While the phone itself isn’t pictured here (just a shot of it in front of an R2D2 silhouette)*something really awesome is: an authentic R2D2 figurine. It would be sweet of Verizon included one of these [...]

I am not sure I understand the rationale of this marketing theme though. Android platform represents something new, but Star Wars and R2D2 represent something old....

Because it's the Motorola Droid, and R2-D2 is a Droid, and Motorola has to pay Lucasfilms to use the name anyways.

Anyways, Star Wars...meh.... Definitely do not care about this special edition in the slightest. Not really into Star Wars, it's old and busted. Still haven't bothered to even see Episodes 2 or 3, Episode 1 pissed me off too much, and all the extra CGI crap they added to the originals just showed what a money-grubbing whore Lucas is.

seriously, that's it? it's just a skin with lame boring 2D ink lines that can be traced by a 5-yr old.

+1 I thought this would have been more "special" for an SE. Seems lame if you ask me!
