I just bought my eris in march this year. So i have a long while before an upgrade. I really like this phone but it is too damn buggy.

I was running white window I really liked it but that damn trackball issue. I just got back from verizon with my 3rd Eris. At least this one isnt having the trackball issue right out of the gate. I don't like sence so much so i think i am going to try Kaos Froyo this time around.

I just rooted mine yesterday (xtrSENSE) and am very pleased so far. A few thing work a little differently, but nothing significant. Now I need to find out how to run LIVE Wallpapers. I've heard both good and bad, but I want to at least try.

Be sure that you back up before & after. Also, it's a good idea to make note of the downloaded APPS that you really want to keep. I had to clean/wipe mine and reflash to get a clean install, but it was nothing more that a learning experience.;)
