Crap, i tried dropping a large hd quality movie on the fascinate today and it said video size to large. Does anybody know what the max video file size is? 2 or 4 gb's? I got it to work well using a 848x480 ratio with avs converter, but it was only a 2 minute clip of the movie I want to drop on the movie ironman 2 that is 6.71gb from a blu ray.

The maximum file size in-take is 4 GB only.

SebaOS, I hate to disagree with you, but i ripped a dvd movie with clone dvd mobile at the highest quality and it looked horrible compared to the 2 minute movie clip that i converted from a blu ray. Night and day difference. Ill have to post a youtube comparison to show u what i mean.

The max filesize of the sd card is 4gb. However, the max filesize that the video player will play is 2gb.

A 2 minute clip should NOT be almost 7gb. It should be around 100mb or less, and thats at full 1080p quality.

I can confirm this as well. I've got a 4.74GB rip of Avatar at 1080p. It does not go onto the phone at all. If the movie was downsized to 480p, it's going to play on the phone just fine.

Yes an HD movie will look better than a SD one on the phone's screen.
My 4.74GB HD copy of Avatar, probably will look gorgeous on the screen. It wont play though, a <2GB SD copy will.

However with the OPs problem, as 'sitlet' points out 6.71GB for a 2 minute HD video, something is wrong here. Perhaps the OP set the bit-rate of the Blu-ray ripping/encoding software far too high? That file is far bigger than whats on the Blu-ray disc.

Im capturing the bu-ray with this Hauppauge HD PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder in Computer Video Capture Equipment at JR.com
the original captured file is 8.33 gb thats with capturing set at about 80% best quality. Now the converting program that i used to bring it down to 7gb is set at video bitrate @4.0 mbps and 30.00 fps with resolution set @ 1280x720 with audio 128kbsp and audio sample rate @ 44.1khz. If u can advice on what changes I should make to be able to get this to fit the 4bg max on my card I would greatly appreciate it. The only 3 option I have at resolution settings is 640x480,1280x720 and 1920x1080. The 640x480 shrinks the screen down too much in wide screen view.

Are you talking about the whole movie? or just the 2 minute clip? The whole movie should be that big, not a 2 minute clip.

    what program?

    h264 i assume?

Nope. Blu-ray should be 24fps, not 30. you are encoding it wrong.

wrong again, movie audio should be 48khz.

Actually it all depends on the content. A cinema movie will be 24fps. TV shows will vary by region depending on the TV standard. 30fps in the Americas, 25fps in Europe and 25fps in China.

Yes, those settings are correct for tv, not film. Film should be 24fps and audio 48khz.

Try this, download MediaInfo, its free. Open your whole movie file in that, and your two minute clip. Change it into Tree mode, then copy everything and paste it here. That will let me see whats going on.

The 2 minute clip is showing 188mb, NOT 8gb like you said before, that makes a big difference.

That 2 minute clip has a resolution of 1920x1080, which doesnt make sense. You capture the movie at 1920x1080, then convert to 1280x720, then convert back to 1080, doesnt make sense. The bitrate is almost 10mb/s, which will never play correctly on android. It needs to be at MOST 4mb/s. Your h264 Profile is showing MAIN, which might play on android, but the BASELINE codec plays much better.

---"but it was only a 2 minute clip of the movie I want to drop on the movie ironman 2 that is 6.71gb from a blu ray."
sorry I should have put a period after ironman 2. That should have been 2 sentences.
Thanks ur right I was going threw too many steps, so I changed the input setting on my ps3 to out put to 720p. Now all I have to do is drop the file after capturing it, right onto the samsung fascinate. I captured 2 videos this time from a aquarium bluray I bought, for 56 seconds each. One at 4mb and the other at the highest quality setting 13.5 mbs. Both worked. The 4mb clip came out to 28.3 mb and the 13.5 came out to be 93.2 mb. The quality of both look great. Im going try to capture a full movie @ 4mb and see if it makes it under the 4gb max. Thanks again. I have not had my capturing device for long so I should have looked over the setting better. I didnt because They were playing fine on my tv. Thanks again. Oh by the way is there any way that I can take one of these small clips and make a live wall paper from it? I did it on my archos but cant figure out how to do it on the fascinate. Heres the 2 video clips I captured and dropped on the phone.

    UPDATE
sitlet well the unconverted video i found out only plays under a minute at like 59.9 fps, which looks amazing, but I ended up having to convert longer video to 30.0fps and now it plays fine. Now I just got to get the capturing rate at the right quality to fit under 4gb. The 13.5mb which is the best quality still looks incredible, even after being converted. @ 4mb capturing it didnt look up to my standards so im thinking ill set it around 10mb(capturing) then im crossing my fingers that after converting it will be under max file size.

Not sure how to make live wallpapers. You would need to check the Google developer site on how to make those.

BTW, what player is that on the phone?

One, the stock video player doesnt technically accept mkv files, only mp4 container.

Looking at the mediainfo, i see a few problems. First again, it should be mp4 container. As I stated above, you should keep videos under 2gb, yours is 3gb. You may need to split the file into two. Your profile says Main@5.1, it should be Baseline 4.1. Yours says Cabac-Yes, it should be No. Your bitrate is a little high, I would keep it around 3000, not 4400.
