Viewing YouTube Vids in HQ on the Evo not Working!Support

    Ok I just tried to watch a video on HQ while having several bars of service but when I click the HQ button in the youtube app it just resets the video and never has HQ highlighted in red... anyone else having this issue? I already power cycled my Evo too.

    Spoke to a co-worked who has the Captivate and HQ is working for him fine.

    I believe you have be on WiFi or 4g in order for Youtube HQ to work. 3g is a no go.

    When you open up the Youtube app, hit menu then settings. Check "High quality video on mobile". Then try viewing a video. It should automatically play in HQ without hitting that button. You do not need to be in 4g or wifi to view in HQ. If it still reset to non HQ then you probably need to do factory wipe.

    Also to add it looks like there is a connectivity problem in my area, ran the SpeedTest and my speeds are a lot lower than what I average usually, I was able to get it to go HQ after just leaving it alone for a second.

    Not true... HQ will work on 3G

    Just tested.. HQ is working fine for me over 3G (EVO, Phoenix).

    yup...it's always worked before.

    youtube had an update a while back and I've had issues ever since. sometimes it works...others it doesn't.

    it very well could be signal/connection strength issue...seeing as neither really have been consistent on sprints network

    Yes it works on 3g. It also depends on what video you are trying to watch. If the video has no HQ option, you wont get it in HQ.

    Ive never had a problem with it.. been very consistant. in fact, Ive never had an issue at all.

    it's this inconsistency that makes me believe it is signal related
