Virgin Mobile After a Month

    I was really getting frustrated with Sprint. I really enjoy playing with my Android phone (I used an HTC Hero on Sprint), but primarily connected via my home WiFi connection. I am retired and have few surviving family members, so I use less than 100 minutes a month in phone calls, and free calls to other wireless customers doesn't save me anything. My Sprint statements were reporting scant wireless usage and 30 to 50 minutes a month at $69.95 plus taxes and Sprint fees. I called their customer service to see if I could downgrade my service, but because I had an Android phone, the answer was no.

    I purchased a Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept and ported my phone number over to it and then sold my HTC Hero on eBay.

    Now I have unlimited date, web and messaging along with 300 minutes for $25 a month and am totally satisfied with the service. :D

    We also dropped my wife's Sprint service and she is mow on a Virgin Mobile plan that costs less than $10 a month, she doesn't use messaging or data, so she is happy too. Her Virgin Mobile phone cost less than $10 at Walmart. :D

    The Samsung Intercept isn't as good as the HTC Hero, but it does all that I need it to do. Too bad Sprint couldn't compete....the services I am now getting are on the same network I was paying $70+ for, with little if any difference in quality.

    I noticed yesterday that Sprint's stock dropped a little. I wonder why.:confused:
