Virgin Mobile with Custom ROMs

Hi All,

I've tried a couple of custom ROMs on my S2 and have settled with Hydra-H2O. The only problem I've found (and this is with several ROMs not just Hydra) is the network name the phone gives me. Virgin customers can use either Orange or T-Mobile signal now, so in the past, when the phone was on T-Mobile it would say "Virgin", and on Orange it would report "virgin".

With these custom ROMs, when on Orange the phone says "Orange", and when on T-Mobile it says "No service". I can still make/receive calls and texts with no problems though.

I can overwrite the info using ROM Control but I'd prefer to be able to tell which network the phone is on, but with the correct names as well.

Any ideas?

It'll be a ROM thing that I doubt you can do anything about. The original firmware must have recognised a Virgin SIM and displayed Virgin accordingly when you had an Orange or T-mobile signal with it, the custom ROM obviously displays the actual carrier it is on.
