Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] (Virgin/Sprint) Optimus F3: All Things Root Guide UPDATED 01/15/2015

Anyone that owns the LG Optimus F3 with Virgin Mobile should do six or seven things to get optimal performance from their device.

1st: Update to software version V8
2nd: Root/Install Busybox and Link2SD
3rd: Install a custom recovery
4th: Install Nova Launcher
5th: Flash Malive Booster 4.1 Alpha
6th: Flash latest CrossBreeder package, enable bypass ISP through terminal, install CrossBreeder apk, enable all options except adblock.

Oh yeah, and after you root, install No Frills CPU Control, and set the governer to performance and the scheduler to noop.

I did the steps above and my phone flies. 13581 in AnTuTu. Guides exist online that give step by step instructions on how to do everything. If anyone has a better configuration/benchmark, please share.

Malive Booster works with stock or custom ROMs. I just set both my SD card read ahead cache values to 3072kb (SD Booster in Playstore works well) and my benchmark score jumped to 14446.

Note: If after flashing Malive Booster 4.1, you find that your WiFi can no longer be enabled, you must edit the build.prop file and remove all the entries that affect the 3G settings of your device, then reboot. They are all grouped together toward the bottom of the file. This restores WiFi functionality. Flashing CrossBreeder will speed up your mobile data anyway, so you aren't really losing much by removing the Malive 3G settings from build.prop. I haven't encountered any other issues, but the benefits are noticeable. I have better looking graphics, a more responsive touch screen, and a snappier system overall.

Sorry for the triple post...Just wanted to say I was hesitant to flash Malive Booster 4.1 because the Optimus F3 wasn't a tested device; however it has been great over the past 2 days. The earlier versions of Malive were tricky to verify whether they were successfully implemented into your phone. With the latest version, many of the tweaks show up in build.prop, while others can be viewed by looking at the sysctl.conf file using an editor. As with any other system mods, take precautions before flashing or making modifications. This thread is great! Thanks to each of its contributors! Long live the Optimus F3! Lol
