Virus in my phone: reset?Support

I have a bit of a problem. My phone caught a virus from an app I downloaded last week (Final Fantasy Logo Quiz) and I have no idea what to do now. The phone continues to open the voice commands window and to freeze. It is really frustrating. I already tried ALL the anti-virus apps in the market. The noticed the malicious app and they unistalled it but nothing: the problem is still there.

I noticed now I have a 'new' app on my phone, which I did not install. It's called 'premier score'. I am pretty sure this is the trojan horse here. The problem is I cannot unistall it. I may try to root the phone but I am quite worried about the procedure (especially with a virus already on the phone). I tried to hard reset it twice, but nothing: that app is still there and the problems too. I also downloaded specific apps to remove software (like Easy Unistall) but nothing.

I am desperate. Which is you advice? Tia!

Welcome to Android Forums, although I wish the circumstances were happier. :(

If this app in unable to be uninstalled then somehow it's managed to install itself as a system app, which shouldn't normally be possible. That alone suggests malware.

As a factory reset hasn't worked, all I can suggest is reflashing your current firmware using Odin. That should replace everything in /system and hopefully irradicate this pest.

Thank you, Slug, but unfortunately this road is not possible. :(

Whoever programmed this malware is an authenticus genius. If I connect my phone to the PC it's going to be disconnected after 2-3 seconds. And then re-connected. And then disconnected. And so on (2-3 seconds per step, really annoying). Do you have any idea which other solution may be possible? There is not way to do a total reset (including system files) without using the PC? :(

Are you rooted? Because if you are, you can access system files from your phone and maybe, just maybe, you can find the app in /system/apps and you can delete it from there.
    I don't know, just my 2 cents.

Try to remove it in safe mode.

    1. Switch off the phone by pressing on the Power button.

    2. Then turn the phone back on, while it is turning on press and hold the Menu button.

    3. Now continue to hold*the Menu button until you see the Home screen. On the home screen you see it say Safe Mode on the left hand corner.

    4. Now that you are in Safe Mode you can go and remove any buggy apps that you don't want to keep.

When you are done in Safe Mode, you can get out of it by pulling out the battery, wait for one minute and the put it back in. Boot your phone up normally and you will be in the standard usable mode.

'Premier Scores' seems to be Samsung/carrier bloatware ;)

Read this Galaxy review (in the Software part) ...
